These knives were designed to be clipped inside the high length boots that were standard issue in the German military and used in close quarter combat. This one has an impressed "Stick Eagle" on the blade. The stamp is a bit of a mystery as to who the maker was. Some examples you will find include a number 5 - 6 or letter S. This one has a 6, as highlighted in the photograph. The conclusion is a Luft Amt marking was actually an acceptance by an inspector or inspecting unit that approved the batch. From further research it would appear that the vast majority of these knives were used by the occupying Germans forces in Norway.
