Stufe Dienstauszeichnung für den Reichsarbeitsdienst für 4 Jahre. Instituted January 30, 1938, the 4-year RAD Long Service medal was awarded to all members of the RAD who contributed 4 years of loyal service. It is constructed out of a die stuck bronze base that has been bronze washed with burnished backgrounds and finished in a protective lacquer coating. The oval shaped obverse features a RAD emblem, which consists of; a mobile swastika in front of an upright spade shovel head that has a wheat sheath coming out either side of it, which lies on a smooth background and is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the top and bottom. The reverse of the badge reads: “Für treue Dienste im Reichsarbeitsdienst” (For Faithful Service in the Reich Labor Service) on a smooth field and is also surrounded by the same wreath. To the top is a soldered-on loop and ring which holds a folded blue rayon ribbon.
