This flare pistol was made by the Remington Arms Company at their plant in Bridgeport Connecticut, between 1915 and 1918. This takes a 10 gauge flare in a 9" steel barrel designated the"MARK III" and so marked with all the manufacturer's information:
MARK III – THE REMINGTON ARMS – UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. INC REMINGTON BRIDGEPORT WORKS – BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, U.S.A
The frame is of brass and comes with its original wood grips. Serial number 3368. This design features a "spur" trigger, and a "top break" loading system, typical of most flare pistols. Measures 12 1/2 inches overall, with a 9 inch barrel.
