The mighty oak, pictured on the front cover before nature claimed it in 2002, stood watch over Longstreet's men as they formed for the assault on the Peach Orchard, Wheatfield and Round Tops on 2 July, 1863. This keepsake was handcrafted from this tree. As you enjoy it, you become part of the great events that unfolded around the very roots of this tree. Feel the tension, enthusiasm and fear of those gallant men preparing for battle.

Hear the deafening sounds of cannon and musketry. Listen to the mournful cries of the wounded and dying. See the acts of incredible courage and unspeakable horror. With this keepsake, you have now become a witness to that history.

These keepsakes are guaranteed hand crafted from historic "witness trees" harvested from the Gettysburg Battlefield. Soldiers from Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas and Mississippi fought over this ground on 2 July 1863.

"witness tree" products are available on a very limited, special order basis.

"Witness trees" were on the battlefield at the time of the battle. There are but a handful of trees remaining. They bear the lasting effects of the horror of the battle. You may observe some discoloration due to lead striations of bullets and shells and other irregularities.

This handcrafted piece has a magnet on the reverse side and can be used. Comes with information booklet.

Wood piece is 2.50 x 2.50 x .50 inches in size
