This book was personally owned by Major Edward Allen Hitchcock McDonald of Co. D 11th Virginia Cavalry C.S.A. This regiment was initially made from men of the 2nd Virginia "Stonewall Brigade" and known as Ashby's Brigade.
(McDonald was wounded at one point with a shot to the face)

Co. D 11th Virginia Engagements:
Company D was involved in many large battles including but not limited to... The Gettysburg Campaign, Antietam, Brandy Station, The Wilderness, Cold Harbor & Petersburg to mention a few.
Condition - A couple pages in the middle of the book are loose from the binding; two of those pages have scripture removed (torn out) for use. There is some ink on the back cover of the book.
